Frequently Asked Questions

West Sussex Tree Surgeons FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) & Answers

Do you have insurance and tree surgeon certifications?

100%

At West Sussex Tree Surgeons, our arborists and tree surgeons are fully insured and certified to provide exceptional services to all our clients.

We have £10 million in tree surgeon insurance for public and employer liability, plus £1 million in professional indemnity for tree consultancy.

Our specialist insurance policies ensure that we, our clients, and the public are fully protected in case of unforeseen circumstances.

For detailed information and proof of our insurance coverage, please visit the dedicated tree surgeon insurance page.

Each specific task or service may require our team members to hold a unique set of specialist certifications to carry out the work safely.

At West Sussex Tree Surgeons, we never cut corners, so you can be sure that every team member is certified and competent to perform the tasks they’re assigned.

If you need verification of our staff’s qualifications, please feel free to ask. For further details and enquiries, contact us today.

Do you need access my home, e.g. for electricity?

If you have a suitable access point, such as a side entrance, for clearing logs, branches, and other debris from your property, we will not need to enter your home.

Additionally, all of our equipment runs on petrol, diesel, or cordless batteries, so there is no need for a direct source of electricity.

How do I accept a quote?

The simplest way to accept a quote is by email. Following this, we can discuss the next steps, including coordinating the project’s timeline and addressing practical details such as parking and access.

How do I get a quote, and how much does it cost?

Contact us to schedule a free consultation and receive a no-obligation quotation that is valid for 30 days.

Each quotation we provide is detailed, expertly prepared, and will be emailed directly to you.

In what condition will you leave my property?

After completing our work, we strive to leave your property tidy and orderly, minimising any signs of our presence. Unless discussed otherwise, we will dispose of all green waste and clean the work area using blowers and other tools to remove debris.

Depending on the size of the tree or the scope of the project, there may be some damage to the lawn; however, we will do our best to minimise this. When operating heavy machinery on damp soil, we will use ground protection mats as a precautionary measure.

West Tree Surgeons has built a strong reputation for leaving properties in excellent condition, often exceeding their original appearance.

What happens to the green waste, branches, twigs, timber and logs etc?

We have a legitimate license for the transportation of green waste, and we are committed to responsibly repurposing, recycling, or disposing of it.

Our company repurposes the majority of the waste generated by our operations, and we send any remaining waste to power plants for biomass production.

You are welcome to keep materials such as wood chips or logs. However, please let us know in advance so we can adjust the pricing accordingly.

When can you start my project once I have accepted the quote?

At West Sussex Tree Surgeons, we always aim to complete projects as soon as possible. That said, delays may occur due to variables beyond our control.

During October to February, we historically experience high demand, and adverse weather conditions can further contribute to delays.

If you have a protected tree (Tree Preservation Order) or if the tree is located in a conservation area, you will need to obtain prior permission, which may take up to eight weeks.

We understand that some projects are time-sensitive, and we prioritise scheduling work to accommodate your preferences and availability.

If you have any time constraints, please get in touch with us so we can better understand your project requirements.
